7L7D - Ruby, day 1

ruby was one of those languages that I wasn't really looking forward too. Mainly because it's the only OO language in the book (though some people have told me it's not really an OO language).

Regardless, here are the exercises:

1) Hello World



2) find the index of the word Ruby in 'Hello Ruby'



3) print my name 10 times



4) print the string 'This is sentence number X' 10 times



5) run a program from a file......
done.


bonus problem: The random number game.




My thoughts for day one:

Meh. ruby at this points seems exactly like python.

Seven Languages in Seven Weeks

Some friends from work and I will be working through this book in the coming weeks. We're going to try and post our experiences on our blogs. Really looking forward to it. In particular the Erlang section.
